Our beef is grass fed and grain finished on our farm in Cut Bank, Montana. No hormones.
Beef will be ready in June of 2026. Pick up in Kalispell, MT.
Whole/half/quarter beef: $5.95/lb hanging weight
Prices are based on hanging weight, which is a weight the butcher
gives us before it is cut; the hanging weight is usually about 60% of
the live weight. Typically the average hanging weight estimate is around
700-800+ lbs (this is an estimate and may vary), so for
example a whole beef (cut and wrapped) would be $5.95 x 700 lbs =
$4165.00, half beef $5.95 x 350 lbs = $2082.50, quarter beef $5.95 x
175 lbs = $1041.25. Our price includes the processor's kill fee and
cut/wrap fee (kill fee is $135 and cut/wrap is $1.10-1.35/lb. Not all farmers include this in the price but we do!)
The take home weight (after it has been cut and wrapped) is typically
65-70% of the hanging weight, so if the hanging weight is 700 lbs, at 65% you could expect to take home approximately: Whole 455 lbs, Half 227.50 lbs, Quarter 113.75 lbs. This comes out to approximately $9.15/lb, a great price for grassfed beef.
A typical cut will include a variety of steaks, roasts, ground beef, and other cuts, packaged and frozen.
If you love hamburger, I highly recommend our premium steakburger cut! This is where an entire quarter of beef is ground into hamburger, making it super beefy and delicious. With all the cuts included in the grind, it's the best burger you will ever taste!
